With over 35 years of coaching experience across a wide range of age and abilities from beginners to NVL. Carl has been the driving force behind Cleobury (Partner Club) since the early 1990’s.
A Committee Member of the West Midlands Association for over 10 years, Carl was the Volleyball England 2019 volunteer of the year.
Loves to see young kids achieve things they said they cant do, that moment “they get it” is a special one.
Nick Shaffery
Vice Chair
Nick founded our partner club, Tettenhall Tigers, in 1994. He is passionate about offering opportunities to all children and young people in order to grow, not only as players but as respectful and caring young adults. The greatest achievements are seeing so many past players continuing to play, coach, help and pass on their love of the game to the next generation.
Pete Bragg
Treasurer
Pete has been coaching since his teacher training days. He's formed several clubs over the years including Stourbridge Volleyball (formerly Redhill Stourbridge VC) in 1999. His vision is of Volleyball being the number 1 net-wall game in schools. "Its a story of child development". Honoured to have become part of Volleyball Englands working group for Children and Young People Pete is determined to grow the framework of local and regional competition clubs and schools.
Nicola Erb
Welfare Officer ( Covid 19 )
An NHS Consultant Nicola had her arm gently twisted to become our Welfare officer.
Her management and organisational skills are outstanding. We just hope her daughter carries on playing for a good few years yet.
Mandy Smith
Ladies Manager
Like many volunteers Mandy was came to the sport when her children began playing at Cleobury VC. Both her daughters graduated via the Black Country events programme to the Junior National Cup teams, they remain heavily involved today. Rather than just support from the sidelines Mandy offered her organisational skills to the club’s female side. She now also administers our Volleyzone account.
Richard Callicott OBE
President
Richard has a had a long distinguished career in Sport and is currently President of British Volleyball and the Commonwealth Beach Volleyball Federations. He is a member of the FIVB Ethics panel and Chair of the judicial; Commission of World ParaVolley. He was head of Sport for Birmingham before joining UKSport as CEO in 1999.
He is the founder and Tournament Director of the Sandwell Volleyball Tournament.
